Der Spiegel---America's Winning

"Die Bush Krieger", "the Bush War", was the headline with this cover from the German socialist rag, Der Spiegel.

Now, several years later, even they are forced to admit that "Truth be told, the Americans have restored order to many parts of the county."

Try as they might to put a negative spin on it they can't help but tell the truth, such as the near total lack of incidents in Ramadi, once a hotbed of terrorism.

So, what happened? We were told that it wasn't possible for us to win in Iraq. What happened is that average Iraqis want, need, us to win and have begun to help us, becoming informants or soldiers or policemen.

We are winning. You know it's going well when an America-hating magazine like Der Spiegel has to admit it.

Is the Arkansas Times next? I won't hold my breath, but once enough democrats have jumped ship, they'll probably pretend that they knew we could win all along and try to take credit one way or another.
