Huckabee at 8% in Arkansas? Poll Analysis

Mike Huckabee has been put on the defensive a lot lately by the national media who want to know why he doesn't have the support of Arkansans. That's a great question.
The recent poll released by the U of A show the Huckster at only 8% in Arkansas, tied with Rudy Giuliani, with Fred Thompson within the margin of error.
8 %??? Are you kidding me? If Mike Huckabee is such a great conservative and did so much for Arkansas, then why is it that the people who know him best are so sour on him? Why were we so eager to see him leave?
Here's the link to the poll results. Look forward to more analysis in the days to come.

That is so pathetic, but not surprising. I'm so glad he's not in charge of the Republican party in Arkansas, anymore. I just can't believe that some repubs around the country don't seem to care about the fact that he has NO support in Arkansas. They ought to be reading this blog so they could find out why.

It's funny how you people will take a survey from a liberal university like Arkansas and use it as proof-positive that Arkansans are not supporting Huckabee.

Liberal UofA doesn't doesn't want Huckabee as president..not conservative Arlkansas.

You city-slickers need to understand...the far-left HATES Mike Huckabee because he IS a CONSERVATIVE...and he is successful!

They can't STAND it!

I've watched Huckabee for his entire tenure as Governor of my state. Although he is not perfect, I'd challenge ANYONE to show me a viable candidate other than one who has no chance that is as successful...and as conservative as he.

Open your eyes people! Quit letting the idiots who want things to continue just as they are pick your candidate.

Huckabee is the one we've been looking for and he's been right here all the damned time!

Get on board!

Even the State Legislators that I thought would feel compelled to back Huckabee are backing other presidential candidates. I wouldn't be suprised if less than a handful of current Republican legislators in this state actually support Huckabee.

What would you get by publicly endorsing Huckabee anyway? We all know how he is--he uses you then loses you. So, win or lose, you are better off supporting someone else.

Al Ozarka, that's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read. The UofA poll is not liberal or conservative. I don't know where you're from in Arkansas, but I've been involved in GOP politics for a long time and Huckabee has a lot less than 8% support among the Repubs I know around the state.

In answer to your question, Fred Thompson.

That poll wasn't asking who the Republicans wanted for Nomination, he's winning in that.

And by the way, something you may want to check out,

http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/arkansas/arkansas_2008_presidential_election

that's a lot more than 8%

Mike Huckabee beats Hillary in Arkansas. Educate yourself a little bit why don't ya?

Hey, James, Huckabee cannot win in Arkansas. I've been a Republican operative in Arkansas for over 15 years. I don't know 5 other Repubs in Arkansas who support him. There's a reason for that. He's a liberal.

There is NO way that he can beat Bill Clinton in Arkansas. Democrats LOVE Clinton. Republicans can't stand Huckabee.

You don't know what you're talking about. That's all aside from the fact that Huckabee is a liberal and a liar.
