Huckabee Offers Mealy-Mouthed Praise and "Olive Branch" to Rush Limbaugh

Jonathan Martin of Politico.com has a story about Mike Huckabee's pitiful attempt to pretend that he likes Rush Limbaugh.

As I've said before, the Huckabees don't listen to Rush. I've personally mentioned Rush to Janet and she stared at me blankly as if she didn't care and didn't believe he would say anything positive about Mike. I've had accounts recently of people close to Huckabee making fun of and criticizing Rush, even before Huck drew Rush's ire, but especially since.

"I love Rush Limbaugh; I've always loved his show," Huckabee assured. "I think he’s been great for the conservative movement."

Unfortunately, Huckabee has been terrible for the conservative movement. He single-handedly dismantled it and the Republican party in Arkansas.

Huckabee is in way over his head with this one. He made a big mistake letting his disdain for Rush become public. Rush Limbaugh is the leader of the conservative movement. He's not going to fooled or charmed by Huck into believing that Huckabee is a fan or a conservative.

If Huckabee was a fan of Rush, we'd know it. He certainly wouldn't have raised our taxes by half a billion dollars or called those of us who didn't want Arkansas to become a Sanctuary State racists. Rush knows that those aren't the actions or words of a conservative. Those are the actions and words of a liberal.

Asking Rush to get in touch with him shows a remarkable amount of arrogance on Huckabee's part. He could have gotten in touch with Rush if he'd wanted to. He's grandstanding this feigned admiration for Rush in a pitiful attempt to fool Rush into thinking he's a conservative and charm Rush into not pointing out that Huck's a liberal anymore.

Rush has already pointed out that Huckabee is a liberal. He's mentioned several times that he doesn't appreciate Huckabee trying to redefine conservatism to mean anything that Huckabee does or has done.

I'm waiting with bated breath to hear Rush's reaction to Huckabee's meager and superficial admiration.
