Huckabee on Stephanoloulos: Where to Begin...
While I work through all of the brazen things Huck said in this interview enjoy this video of Huckabee hemming and hawing about his record and current position on illegal immigration. Note that he never directly answers anything that George says, such as when he ignores the question about his support scholarships and harboring illegal aliens. He just says, "aw, shucks, I'm not fer amnesty (paraphrased)."
Huck goes on to say he doesn't support the idea of Sanctuary Cities. What Huckabee actually doesn't support is the term Sanctuary, because he ran Arkansas as a Sanctuary State. "What I do support, though, is humane treatment of human beings," Huck says with his typical condescension for those of us who treasure our sovereignty and the rule of law.
He goes into his spiel about how "you don't punish a child because a parent committed a crime." ...soooo, you reward the parent by giving them our tax money and sending their kids to college in violation of federal law??? And you say it's racist to help the federal government enforce immigration laws, like 287(g). And thus encourage more and more of them to come to Arkansas...hence Arkansas's current status as a Sanctuary State...
Stephanopoulos lets him have it, though. I guess he doesn't like Huckabee insulting his intelligence, either. He forces Huckabee to admit that the legislation that Huckabee finds so easy to distort says absolutely nothing about the time someone has to be in Arkansas's schools, which Huckabee has been lying about for some time.
I could go on point by point, but time is running short right for now. I'll get back with this and much more as soon as I can.
