Mike Huckabee Admits His Son Killed a Dog
This video has some pretty damning footage of Mike Huckabee admitting that his son, David, killed a dog at a Boy Scout camp. Huckabee specifically does not deny that his son brutally tortured and killed the dog.
I don't think the incident of David accidentally carrying his handgun into the airport is important. This video makes a big deal of it. I believe it was an honest mistake. I seriously doubt he thought he could carry a firearm onto a plane.
Let me say this, though. I know David Huckabee, not well, but I know him. He's a reasonably nice guy, but I don't think that justifies him torturing and killing a dog. Kids do stupid stuff, though, even mean stuff.
The real problem is that I don't think it's a stretch for Huck to have used his influence to prevent an investigation. The evidence of that appears to be credible.

This is ridiculous! Because the son has made some mistakes, that diqualifies Huckabee from being President? Puh-lease!
I did not say that David brutally torturing and killing a dog disqualifies Huck.
The problem is that Huckabee's former director of the state police says Huck pressured him to cover it up. Huck's response in this video was so contrived.
A blind man could see that.
I stated before that David is a nice guy. He was a kid and did something stupid and cruel. That's bad. I don't agree with the conclusion of this video, as I stated, that David is a bad seed. He's not perfect. But he's not a bad guy, as far as I know.
Unfortunately, Mike wasn't a kid and, yet, he also did something stupid and arrogant. He used his position to squelch an investigation. If you knew Huckabee as well as those of us in Arkansas do, that wouldn't surprise you.
I'm certain that nobody who knew the Huckster's way of doing business was surprised that his chief of staff, Brenda Turner, was told to put pressure on the State Police to sweep this whole incident under the rug. What's a little animal cruelty and torture among friends?
The real issue isn't that Huckabee's son is a disturbed and troubled young man. The issue is that Huckabee routinelyl used his power for personal gain. Just take a look at Action America...
