Clemency
I need to note that this song was written and produced by Dave Elswick, who is Central Arkansas's #1 local talk show host. His show airs at 2 p.m. on KARN News Radio, which is 102.9 FM and 920 AM.
At this point, I don't know who the singer and musicians are, but they did a great job, as well.
The website is for KARN is http://www.karnnewsradio.com/ . You can listen to Dave live online from 2-6 p.m. weekdays.

Those are some scary looking fellas!
Mike Huckabee let over 1000 criminals out of jail? How is that conservative? If you do the crime you ought to do the time. I can't believe anyone supports this nut for President. If I lived in Arkansas I wouldn't feel very safe.
"If I lived in Arkansas I wouldn't feel very safe."
If you lived in Arkansas, you WOULD be safe. One of the requirements that was imposed when Huckabee sprung the rapist, Doumond, was that he leave the State of Arkansas... So he went to Missouri and killed a woman.
To me, the fact that they imposed a requirement that he leave the State means that they KNEW he was too dangerous to be on the street.
Can you provide any documentation that the criminals were required to leave Arkansas after they were paroled?
I've never heard that. It sounds made up.
On the subject of Dumond being forced to leave the state:
Its true. It was a condition of his being released.
Texas and Florida refused to accept him.
Missouri initially rejected him but accepted him after he married a Missouri woman.
Carol SueShields was murdered within two months after DuMond relocated to Smithville, a town just north of Kansas City.
It's not true, but it really doesn't have any bearing on the situation. Fox is reporting that Huckabee granted clemencies an average of once every 4 days for 10 years.
I did the math and they're right. That's a shocking statistic.
Could you provide some documentation?
I loved the video!
Your ex-Governor kinda scares me. He's glib, funny, and just as skilled in fast talk as another of your Governors - Which, in itself, should scare you.
I cannot call the man a full conservative (perhaps on some social issues) but, clearly, not on economic ones.
Could he be taking lessons from John Edwards with his "Populist" stances on just about everything?
Mike, I wouldn't mind you as a neighbor, but I DON'T want you as my President, Sorry!
His record is accurate .... google it.
Exceptional message, btw. Kudos to the writing and the singer!
It appears the condition to leave the state is true.
"When the board paroled Dumond in January 1997, he had been in prison since 1985 for the rape of Ashley Stevens, a Forrest City high school student.
The board made Dumond’s parole conditional upon his moving out of state, but initially authorities in Florida, Texas, and other states declined to allow him to move there. Dumond was finally released in October 1999, when he moved to DeWitt to live with his stepmother.
In August 2000, Dumond moved to Smithville, Mo., a rural community outside Kansas City. "

What a brilliant and hysterical video! I found it on youtube and I was led here. Thank you for passing it on. I've posted it on my blog.
I would also like to say you have a great blog here. I am very impressed.

Mike Huckabee, the original domestic terrorist.
Great Work guys. This needs to be distributed everywhere. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
This is a rather clever video. The author has some good musical talent, but the message is a dishonest one. It is easy to represent anyone as having poor motives by excluding certain portions of information.
Obviously Clemencies have a valid and proper purpose when used responsibly. A film like this that bares no information about any of the individual cases attempts to unjustly represent the person who granted them as if they were wrong.
Simply quoting a number that sounds high, or comparing it to other numbers that are lower, does not have any relevance to whether any of the actually Clemencies were poor decisions.
The picture of Wayne DuMond in this video is not accurate information. He was not granted clemency at all, he was paroled. In Arkansas, "Clemency" is a pardon granted by the Governor and "parole" is done by a board of appointed officials that the Governor has no control over. In fact, Governor Huckabee DENIED DuMond's request for "Clemency" four times. Just the opposite of what this film implies.
Michael, you have a remarkable ability to copy and past talking points.
I read your comment and I couldn't help but think, I've read this somewhere before. Sure enough, I checked another blog I read recently and your exact same comment was made there by someone else. It is word for word the same, which makes me wonder if this exact comment isn't just a verbatim talking point issued by the Huckabee campaign.
Here's the link to the other blog comments, to which I responded the other day.

See the first comment by "Andrew". Now, I have spoken to Andrew, via email, so I assume that he is a real person, but I'll have to ask him if those were his words or if he received them from the Huckabee campaign.
Stay tuned and I will respond to this talking point in a post, soon.

Great catch Henry. I am interested in knowing what Andrew says.
I also believe there is an angle that has been overlooked in this election. I've posted about it in my own blog. http://stormythoughts.blogspot.com
Huckabee and his followers - for the most part - are the radical christians - the extremists.
Huckanomo and his little Huckanomo's need to be excised from the party.
Stormy, thanks for the kind words.
I need to disagree with you in part, however, about Huck's support coming solely from extremist Christians. I was very surprised the other day to find that my own brother thinks that Huckabee is a wonderful Christian and I'm finding lots of people I know who are normal evangelicals who think that's true, as well.
It's true, unfortunately, that many are not interested in seeing Huckabee for who he really is or haven't seen him for who he really is.
Hey Henry. Your blog is looking great today. I check you out at least twice a day.
Just to clarify my earlier post about Huckabee's supporters. I did not state his support is coming solely from extremist Christians. Like you, I agree there are "normal" - "rational" (pick a term. LOL) evangelicals supporting him.
However, I believe them to be in the minority. That's why I said "for the most part" his supporters are the extremists.
Hope that makes it clearer. Thanks.
I really appreciate your readership. Your comments are very much appreciated, too.
I agree that some extremist Christians support Huckabee, but I know a number of "normal" Christians who support Huckabee.
Perhaps your definition of "normal" is different than mine. I know a lot of home schooled Christian families who I think of as normal. I need to reread your post to see what you're defining as extremist.
Thanks, again.
It is a great comment. I read this very well. I think that it is true that which is written in this article. I have the same opinion on this.
