Severing Economic Growth

If you're as disturbed as I am at this lemming rush to raise taxes on energy production, you need to read David Sanders' latest column.
Here's the link.
Also, I caught Sanders' show, Unconventional Wisdom, with his guest John Brummett. One thing stood out like a sore thumb about Brummett's analysis of the Republican race is that he said that he could support McCain, "because I won't have to worry about who he'll put on the Supreme Court."
I have received a note from David Sanders informing me that I misheard the above comment by John Brummett. He apparently said the opposite. Here's what he actually said, "Even I could almost vote for John McCain, if I didn't have to worry about who gets nominated to the Supreme Court, which is what this is all about."
This statement is still remarkably telling about McCain, although I don't agree that Brummett would have much to worry about McCain's choices for the Supreme Court, given his lead role in helping to sink many superb judicial nominees.

When something is taxed, you get less of it. This fundamental economic truth has been documented in numerous peer-reviewd publications, but it seems that only Sanders and the AR. Journal are willing to say it around this state.

Watch any government official in Arkansas. They will always compare economic growth the health of state government. Mike Huckabee does it all the time.
