Dollar Slide Partially Manufactured By Deflationary Policy of the Euro
People complain about the value of the dollar falling as the euro climbs. What many don't know is that the European banking system has been propping it up, causing the currency to deflate, which has made the dollar's slide appear far worse than reality. The attempt to inflate the value of the currency is designed to get foreign countries to shift their reserves from the dollar, which could be devastating for the dollar and a boon for the euro. The problem with all of this monetary panic is that the American media portrays it as if Europe is booming when, in reality, average Europeans can't afford much with their currency spiking.
Financial Times has the story. Here's the link.
