2nd Amendment Upheld: Thank You, President Bush
For all of you know-it-all cynics out there, you owe President Bush a debt of gratitude. His appointment of Sam Alito shifted the balance of the supreme court, which brought us this week's Heller decision and the partial birth abortion decision.Thank you, Mr. President.

That's right. I'm grateful for Bush. I'm also grateful for the Republican senators who got Alito's nomination confirmed by the Senate. Ditto with respect to Chief Justice Roberts. And, of course, I am grateful for the five persons in the majority: Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, Alito and, at least this time, Kennedy.
