Thoughts
---
The thought just occurred to me.
Democrats, the Obama campaign, and pro-Obama media lecturing us about how inexperienced Palin is is a loser argument. If people vote for the top anyway, then why is the issue off the table? So if McCain dies in office and Palin becomes President, she won’t have a vice president picked by congress who has foreign policy experience like Biden does? Guys the whole argument is nuts. If McCain dies, then Palin is where Obama is now. Obama picked Biden and Palin would have as VP someone like Biden on the GOP side.
While we are talking about experience here think about this. Who is the ONLY one of the 4 with ANY executive experience? Sarah Palin
Who has accomplish more while in office between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama????
To boil it all down: The Dems argument is “hey you can’t vote for McCain because his VP pick is just as inexperienced as our Presidential pick is”. Think about that for a while. I think that they got caught with this pick. I wish that I could have been a fly on the wall in Obama’s high command when they first heard about this. I’ll bet they wet in their pants. There is not an ad on TV yet and it has been 5 hours since the news came out. They had an ad for Romney and Tim Pal. They had to go digging for the file on Sarah Palin and I bet it was a thin file.
Also Sarah Palin is pro-life, fiscally conservative, and has a record of reform and fighting corruption.
Obama has based his entire campaign on 1 word :CHANGE. In the first major decision Obama picks a guy who has been in Washington for 36 years. McCain on the other hand pick an outside maverick.

Sexism Rears Its Head, Courtesy of Talking Head
A friend sent me this bit right after McCain announced Sarah Palin as his Veep. The account was from the Campaign Spot on National Review.
So the various talking heads were discussing the Palin selection this morning, and typically, they were trying to come at the thing from all angles. On CNN, John Roberts walked unwittingly into a haymaker when he mused:
John Roberts: She has a child with Down's Syndrome, and care for children like that can take a lot of time. Is there any concern about the balance of that?
Enter CNN's Dana Bash, no partisan hack by any stretch of the imagination. If she's ever displayed partisan leanings either way, I've not discerned them. So imagine my (and John Roberts' surprise) when Bash let loose with:
Dana Bash: The McCain camp is probably wondering if she were a man, whether you would be asking the same question.
Ouch.
INSPIRED!!!
"Babies, guns, and Jesus!" That's one way Rush Limbaugh described the naming of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate. He's right on, as usual. This was a lot more than an overture to Conservatives. This was a full blown kiss from McCain. Thank you, Senator.
This announcement has buried news about Obama's self-glorifying speech and left Conservative Republicans giddy with joy.
Palin was scheduled to be honored by "the Life of the Party" at the RNC convention, which is the quadrennial pro-life caucus of the convention. Phyllis Schlafly, Matriarch of the Conservative Movement and founder of Eagle Forum, organizes the event and was very generous in her praise of Palin, before anyone knew she was the pick.
This is positively inspired. I'm ready to go to work to win this election. Watching Obama's Leftist speech last night nearly pushed me over the edge, but this sent me plunging head over heels. America is going to fall in love with Sarah Palin and Conservatives are buzzing with excitement. I could go on and on, but this is truly inspired.
P.S. You may have noticed that I didn't do a post of Obama's big speech. I feel it's only appropriate to ignore it since the rest of the country is with the announcement of Governor Palin burying his big moment.

Big Oil Hearts Obama
Despite the fact that Obama has taken more money from Big Oil than John McCain, he's playing the hypocrite card crying that McCain is in the back pocket of Big Oil. Based on what? You tell me. Must be something other than taking money from them, because, by that measure it's Obama who is in Big Oil's back pocket.
Also, I'd like to note that this commercial, care of the DNC, is typically smug and stupid.
Here's the link.
Also, FactCheck.org, has further put the lie to Obama's claim not to take money from Big Oil.

Huckster on Rush: Why Does Lying Come So Easily to Huckabee?
I happened to catch the beginning of Rush's second hour, today, when Mike Huckabee called in to "set the record straight" about opposing Mitt Romney.West Virginia
The most easily identifiable lie was when Huckabee claimed that his forces and McCain's didn't conspire to steal the West Virginia caucus from Romney, who won the first ballot. Huckabee blamed the episode on Ron Paul supporters, as if their decision to support Huckabee had anything to do with McCain's supporters choosing to do the same. This assertion was such a thinly veiled and flimsy lie that I was shocked he even floated it.
I've searched the internet and been unable to find anything that corroborates the Huckster's claim. A caller to Rush's show helped set the record straight. Rush had apparently checked the record himself.
Mormonism
Huck also suggested that he didn't oppose Romney because of his religion. He attempted to brush aside a remarkable question he asked an interviewer during the primary of whether Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers. When Rush asked him about this today Huckabee attempted to suggest that he really didn't know. Now, as someone who was raised in a Southern Baptist church, I find this suggestion ridiculous. Huckabee was a Southern Baptist preacher. He was well aware of this tenet of Mormonism. What other religion might he have been confusing Mormonism with? That assertion is just pitiful. Newsmax covered the issue of Mike Huckabee's knowledge of Mormonism pretty thoroughly in December.
Tax Cuts
Huckabee then suggested that the reason he didn't like Romney was because he had a record of a tax cutter and Romney had mischaracterized him. Well, I've had a little experience covering Huckabee's record as a tax cutter. Simply put, he's not one. Huckabee raised our taxes by a net of half a billion dollars. Huckabee's made a habit of lying about his tax record, which I've documented thoroughly. HotAir.com cited me on several occasions when I pointed out his free-wheeling attempt to rewrite his tax record.
I guess it's time to do a short recap of Huckabee's record of lies and liberalism, especially on his tax record.
Easy With Lies
The overarching questions, though, are why does he feel compelled to lie and why does lying come so easily to Huckabee? He's made his image as a Christian leader, yet he's so ready to lie. He's not very good at it though. It's as if he's not aware that it's easy to check out what he says.
Rush Limbaugh obviously has one of the best research staffs in media. And he doesn't like being lied to, any more than anyone else, especially on the air. That happened at least four times today.
Ron Paul's supporters didn't defeat Romney in West Virginia. Huckabee knows a lot more about Mormonism than he made out. Mike Huckabee is not a tax cutter.

Milk Stabilization Gnomes Debates Raising Milk Costs on Consumers/Rewriting Laws of Economics
When this measure was being debated an unnamed member went to the Well in support claiming that it would not enable increases in the cost of milk. Members of the Stabilization Board have recently stated that it won't increase the cost to consumers because the increase won't be at the retail level...Again, I call for more taxes and fees at this magical level where costs won't increase for the consumer or the producer in all areas. We should probably start at $1,000 per gallon so that we can help dairy farmers can become filthy rich. This will be an excellent turn of events since it won't costs consumers a dime.
I'm working on ways to increase fees in my own business below the retail level. I'm a little more ambitious. I'll probably raise mine by $1,000,000. I'm not sure who is going to pay them, but who cares? I'll be filthy rich in no time.

To Drill or Not To Drill...More Common Sense on the Nonsense of the 68 Million Acre Farce
I brought you a story recently about the foolishness of democrat misdirection about increasing production. My friends at the American Petroleum Institute were kind enough to send me the following paper on the reasoning behind drilling or not drilling low producing wells.WARNING: Thinking is required. The following may challenge preconceived notions and propaganda produced by opponents to lowering American energy costs!!!
Also, if you haven't visited EnergyTomorrow.org , yet, do so. It's a compendium of some of the most thought provoking analysis on the issues of energy policy available. Avail yourself of a little free education.

About Those 68 Million Acres
Seems that democrats are playing games with the cost of gasoline, again. Now they're demanding that oil companies expend huge amounts of capital to access low producing wells. But who cares about facts anyway? Right?Yeah, I'm sure the oil companies are trying not to make money by not drilling wells to which they already have access.

Exxon CEO Answers Snobby Elitist Obama's Stupid Call For Windfall Profit Tax and Other Stupid Assertions
"I saw someone characterize our profits the other day in terms of $1,400 in profit per second. Well, they also need to understand we paid $4,000 a second in taxes, and we spent $15,000 a second in cost," Tillerson told ABC News' Charles Gibson. "We spend $1 billion a day just running our business. So this is a business where large numbers are just characteristic of it."The "someone" to whom Rex Tillerson is referring is Barry Obama. He's being too kind to him by not mentioning his name, but he's not kind at all to the stupidity of his reasoning.
At $4,000 a second in taxes I'd say the government is the organization raking in windfall profits. That doesn't count the fees and lease revenues the government receives from Exxon, either.
Why is it that we never demand a windfall profit tax on government? They just sit back and demand more of our money...and it is OUR money. Who do they think pays the taxes they put on oil? I guess they think that businesses have a special fund for paying taxes and don't pass that cost on to consumers...
Obama is an elite, socialist snob who thinks we're stupid. Who's the stupid one, though, when your solution to high energy prices is to raise the costs of energy producers, ergo, energy consumers. Obama's windfall profit tax will actually raise the cost of energy.

UPDATE: Dairy Farmers to Get Subsidy...State Milk Board Needs Lesson in Economics
I hate to be lazy, but a reader sent me this and I couldn't come up with a better way to say it on short notice."(The State Milk Board has decided) to assess a "fee, but not a tax" on milk production. But do not worry says the state milk board, the fee will be divvied up amoung 145 farmers, but won't affect milk prices because it isn't assessed at the retail level.
"I ask, if we can help these farmers without raising the price of milk, why assess such a small fee, let's really help these boys out, say 5 dollars per gallon!"
Seriously, if "fees" (not taxes, of course) won't affect the price why not raise them to $1oo per gallon, or $1,000? Think of how great it is that we can enrich these farmers without even raising the price!!!
Like the severance tax, we once again learn that prices aren't affected if they're not on the consumer level!!! This is so great! These guys have reinvented economics. I'm dying to start increasing the cost in my own business. I just have to make sure it's not on the consumer level and voila...step 3: WINDFALL PROFITS!!!

Pray for DPA Chairman Gwatney...Shot By Gunman at Democrat HQ
I broke away from my work today with a flurry of text messages and emails from state reps and various politicos to alert me to breaking news that Bill Gwatney, chairman of the Democrat Party of Arkansas, was shot by a 40 year old white male from McRae. The perp apparently went to the Arkansas Baptist Convention headquarters first by mistake and asked where the DPA hq was, while brandishing a firearm.I want to encourage all of you to pray for Chairman Gwatney. I've just received a report that he isn't doing well.
The perp was killed in a shootout after a chase at the Sheridan exit.

Nope. Amazingly, it's plummeted from the mid-900s (in popularity). As of last Friday, it was # 1,457 most popular on Amazon.com, the world's largest book store.Way to go, Nancy!
That's some accomplishment for the first female Speaker of the House. You've succeeded in leading the lest popular congress in U.S. history. You've succeeded in driving the economy into the ground and oil prices through the roof!

Dobbins Update: Roll Call of House Vote
U.S. Delegation Comes Back From Iraq...No Bad News...Ross a Moron
Congressman Mike Ross, unable to admit the overwhelming success in Iraq, which his party has always claimed was impossible could only must the following glittering, colossal jewel of stupidity:"Anytime you spend $16 million an hour, you're going to make a difference. We could reduce the teenage pregnancy rate in America with $16 million an hour," Ross said. "The big question I have is what happens in Iraq when we're not spending $16 million an hour because we can't sustain that forever."
Really, Congressman? Is that why the War on Poverty is such a glittering success, 40 years and trillions of dollars later?
The success in Iraq couldn't possibly be because President Bush didn't follow the calls for surrender from your party, which allowed the troops to finish the job, could it? What an embarrassment. Stick to your stupid commercials reminding us to turn down the thermostat.

Happy Anniversary, Rush!!!
Pelosi Turns Off Lights and Cameras, Takes No Action on Gas Prices
Thank You, Rush...20th Anniversary of Rush Limbaugh Show
Golden Voice of Freedom. Heir to Ronald Reagan. Leader of the Conservative Movement. Those are just a few descriptions to describe Rush Limbaugh. Today marks the 20th anniversary of his seminal radio show. He has reshaped America for the better. He single-handedly ended the left-wing domination of the main stream media. Yes, much of the mainstream media, or "drive-by media", is still overwhelmingly liberal, but it is no longer dominant, thanks to the New Media, begun by Rush.
Having listened to Rush since 1990, I am proud to say that the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies is the best free education available anywhere.
Human Events, America's oldest Conservative publication made Rush their 2008 Man of the Year. The publication has dedicated this week as Rush Week in honor of Rush's anniversary. Some of the best commentary on what Rush means to America and the Conservative Movement is available there.
Try Ann Coulter's column "The Other Inventor of Radio". Brent Bozell offers "Limbaugh's V8 Moments", which will be remind a lot of Dittoheads oh what it was when we found Rush. Steve Forbes' column, "Empowerer of the Modern Conservative Movement", is dean on. Rush's kid brother, David, offers some great commentary in "Limbaugh on Limbaugh". Michael Reagan, whose father, the late Ronaldus Magnus, passed the torch of the Conservative Movement to Rush, offers very gracious remarks in " Thanks Rush: Conservative Talk Radio Pioneer". F. Lee Levin (Mark Levin), whom Rush just described as the single smartest conservative, other than himself, accurately describes Rush as "The Engine of Conservatism". Always gracious and proud to be the #2 radio talk show host, Sean Hannity describes Rush as "The Babe Ruth of Broadcasting". Phyllis Schlafly, the Matriarch of Conservatism, calls Rush's success a result of his courage.
Over at National Review, the grateful praise continues. Roy Spencer, the official EIB Climatologist, calls Rush "The Godfather" and Byron York comments on "The Never-Ending Quest to 'Hush Rush'". More from the Corner.
From the Heritage Foundation, America's leading think tank, Conservative, or not: "Mega Dittos, Rush!!!".
Last, but certainly not least, Rush was surprised this morning with a personal call not just from President Bush, 43, but also from former president, 41, and Governor Jeb Bush. The Presidents and Governor were effusive in their praise. The most priceless part was that 41 didn't know he was on live radio.
At a time like this, words leave me. I cannot begin to express my gratefulness to Rush. I am who I am, to a large degree because of Rush Limbaugh. His belief in America and in Americans has inspired millions, including me. Even in hard times, Rush reminds me that I live in the greatest country on earth and my destiny is only limited by my desire. Rush has taught me that Conservatism is America. Rugged individualism is what made America great and Rush is, alongside President Reagan, one of America's greatest rugged individuals.
Rush, thank you and God Bless You. Of course, He already has, with talent he has "loaned" you. And He has blessed us all with you. Thank you for 20 incomparable years as the clarion of freedom.
