Told You So...Libs Ready To Go After Intranational Tax Havens, Too

It was just Thursday that I suggested that the liberals would soon be calling for government action to punish tax haven states (states that don't punish success), as Obama has been calling for on an international basis.

Perhaps liberals could be intellectually honest and admit to themselves that this is supply side economics at work. States which aren't struggling nearly as badly are called tax havens and must be punished because wealthy people for some reason don't like being punished in other states for being successful.

This is what liberalism has to do keep keep the states they control from failing: make "tax haven" states punish the rich, too. That way the rich won't move out of the states liberals have already ruined (Michigan, California, the Northeast, the Northwest, etc...).

Brummett Justifies Racism...Sotomayor's Story

Compare these two statements:

"...a woman of poor Hispanic descent can bring richer experience to a better legal ruling than a typical white male can bring." -Brummett

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male...” -Sotomayor

Note the difference in the way that Brummett phrased it. She didn't say that she could bring "richer experience". She said that Latina women can make better decisions than white males. It's a very cunning attempt by Brummett to soften, and thus justify, the racism of that remark.

Now, reverse the situation. What if John Roberts or Samuel Alito had said, "I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina female..." There's no doubt that they'd have been hung from a yard arm for that obviously racist statement. Why are we supposed to ignore it when a liberal minority makes the same racist statement?

Liberals, such as now-Vice President Joe Biden didn't give Clarence Thomas the benefit of the doubt. His upbringing was far more impoverished and challenging than that of Sotomayor. Biden, after Thomas's confirmation suggested that the only reason that he had been confirmed was that he was black and that he was otherwise unqualified. What would the response be if the same statement was made by a Conservative about Sotomayor, who has had 80% of her decisions overturned, often being reprimanded for decisions that had no bearing in the law?

To make matters worse, Sotomayor is actually a member of the radical, racist group, La Raza, "the race" in Spanish. La Raza is committed not only to racism, but to the treasonous overthrow of the American Southwest, to Reconquista, reconquer, it as a Hispanic country. These facts aren't exactly hidden, but Brummett brushes them aside and ignores many others as if her compelling story is supposed to justify putting a racist and incompetent judge on the highest court in the land. Shameful.

Soak The Rich Taxes Drive Wealthy Out Of Maryland...To Tax Haven States

Obama has already stated his distaste for international tax havens. How long until he begins to mandate or push for the closing of intranational tax havens, which are attracting the wealthy who are fleeing high taxes in states like Maryland, California, Michigan, and New York?

The only reason why tax havens exist is because certain states and countries are so greedy and punish people for being successful. It's remarkable how unemployment is highest and economic downturns are the most severe in states with the most punitive confiscatory taxes. Why would the people who create jobs and grow the economy what to stay? Michigan is trying to bribe people with a BILLION dollar fund to come there. Why not just make the state friendly for the businesses that were already there, idiots? It's remarkable how stupid these politicians are and how transparent their actual goals are. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that job and economic growth is the result of rewarding the profit motive. The leaders of these states, all of them run by liberals, show every day that they care more about growing government than they do about growing the economies of the private sectors of their states.

While that may sound fun and nice, where does this idiot think these companies are going to get the money to pay for this? It's a freshman democrat congressman, Rep. Alan Grayson, D-FL, who came up with the brilliant idea while he was at Disney World. He seems to think that forcing companies to cut into their profit margins will boost the economy. I'm not sure where he got that idea. Assuming that Disney doesn't already do this, I wonder what they'd think of being forced to give everybody a paid vacation every year. Disney is apparently in his district and probably already does something like this, so they figure why not force the rest of America to bail out the struggling tourism industry?

The real result of this will be that many companies will have to lay people off because they have thin profit margins, if they're making a profit, and others will go out of business. This is just one more example of an idiot democrat with no understanding of economics trying to force his stupidity on the rest of us. Companies are free to do this. It's not the government's business to dictate that. Look at the industries that are laying in waste because of the built in costs like this from union demands and government dictates: the Big 3, U.S. manufacturing in general, and the financial industry. Why would we want to pile on to that?

Obama Economic "Solution" Hits Home: 8 Arkansas Chrysler Dealerships To Be Closed...Including Cook Jeep In LR, The Oldest Jeep Dealership In Arkansas

A reader sent me this picture of Cook Jeep, the only dealership that remained in downtown after all the rest moved to fancier, more expensive digs. Apparently, the way to save their business would've been to amass large amounts of debt to open a superstore in West Little Rock or elsewhere.

What's being done to these small businesses is criminal. Amazing how there is no outcry from liberals who always pretend to support the little guy. This time they had to choose between 3,000 + small businesses and Big Labor. That wasn't a hard choice for them. Of course, Obama giving the UAW 55% ownership of Chrysler might have something to do with it. They certainly weren't going to punish themselves. So, instead of lowering their uncompetitive cost structure, they chose to raise the price of their cars, by reducing competition. So, not only are they sticking it to thousands of small businesses and who knows how many employees, their also sticking it to consumers. If this doesn't serve to raise the price of Chrysler vehicles, then all it will have done is kill thousands of jobs and businesses.

Brummett Illustrates His Ignorance

Like most liberals, Brummett lets others do his thinking and research for him. In his latest column about the make up of the GOP, he trots out the line that Rush Limbaugh and his listeners want "America" to fail. If Brummett were half as thoughtful as he pretends to be, he would have checked himself to find that Rush wants Obama to fail in acheiving his policy goals. Socialism, Obama's "moderate" political goal, didn't do much for the rest of the world to stave the current economic downturn. For some reason the rest of the world is faring far worse than we and some (California, Michigan, France...) have been languishing for quite some time, long before the rest of the world caught up. Those gems are poster children for Obama's economic policies, which I'm sure Brummett supports, since he thinks they're middle of the road policies. 539,000 Americans lost their jobs last month. Where are these "shovel-ready" government make-work jobs that were going to stop the economy from tanking?

I meet so many people who tell me that the Bush years were a terrible time economically, despite the reality. It's remarkable how ignorant so many people are. Regardless, this is Obama's recession now. It's gotten far, far worse since he became president. Those same people think Obama has turned it around. His response have been to mimic the model of socialist countries the world over, which are and have been far worse off than us. France has been in serious double digit unemployment for a lot longer than this current recession. Back home, so have Michigan and California, two states which have already gone down the path Obama's is leading us down, now.

Obama doesn't think this is a solution to our recession. What he's doing now is the same thing he'd have tried to do under any circumstances. Otherwise, the fact that California, Michigan, and the gamut of Western European countries already have this socialist system in place and are still suffering in this economy would dissuade him. We are in for a rough ride unless Republicans can pick up a significant number of seats in congress and the conservative democrats, that the democrat party needed to gain the majority, throw on the brakes.

Truthfully, though, Obama is showing that he has little need for congress or even the courts, since he has begun to dictate to private companies how they can operate their businesses. His reasoning is the same as that for telling people to wear seatbelts and what they can eat: we gave you money, so you have to do what we say. How long will it be before Obama is telling you more and more how to live your life? He's doing it already. He's establishing Hitler Youth-like compulsory service in exchange for college scholarships. When did becoming community organizers and bureaucrats ever build a nation's wealth? It doesn't. It builds the power of the government, which is Obama's ultimate goal.

Actually, no. The average graduate of George Mason isn't a billionaire, but will probably be in the top five percent of income earners within five to ten years of graduating. If the top five percent were billionaires, that would mean that there were 15 million billionaires in America, when there are actually fewer than a thousand in the whole world. If the top five percent were even millionaires that would mean that there are 50 percent more than there actually are in America.

"That's a poor comparison."

How so? Why shouldn't people who earned their grades not spread them to people who didn't? Somehow, though, it's okay to spread the wealth of those who earned their money to those who didn't earn as much.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A Louisiana small business owner facing more than 100 mass action lawsuits is recounting his legal ordeal as part of a national campaign called Faces of Lawsuit Abuse, which exposes the negative effects of abusive lawsuits on small businesses and individuals. Mike Carter, owner of Monroe Rubber and Gasket in Monroe, LA, tells his story in a short video featured on www.FacesofLawsuitAbuse.org, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform (ILR). “Abusive lawsuits are not victimless,” said ILR President Lisa Rickard. “Many people think big-dollar lawsuits are only filed against ‘deep-pocket’ corporations. Yet, in this current economic climate, many locally owned businesses like Monroe Rubber and Gasket are just one lawsuit away from closing their doors.” Carter’s company was first named in asbestos lawsuits four years ago, despite the fact that the company had not handled anything related to asbestos in more than 20 years. Even then, Monroe Rubber and Gasket was an intermediary seller of a small amount of materials containing encapsulated asbestos, a non-airborne material that remains legal to this day. “I didn’t quite understand why we were receiving these [lawsuits] based on what we do here,” said Carter. “He observed that, given the economic downturn, several businesses in Monroe are closing, and the lawsuits against him may cost the town more jobs. “This could take us out of business… It’s just sad because I’ve got a group of people here that work with me. And it’s their livelihoods on the line.” Carter’s story is one of the latest posted on the Web site, which features a collection of videos about small businesses and individuals across the country who have dealt with abusive lawsuits. The effort is supported by a national television, internet, and radio ad campaign. “The people featured in this campaign all suffered real emotional and financial pain,” said Rickard. “We are giving voice to their stories so that Americans will understand that our lawsuit-happy culture is taking a toll on their friends, neighbors, and local businesses.” ILR seeks to promote civil justice reform through legislative, political, judicial, and educational activities at the national, state, and local levels.
