Obama Kills F-22/America's Preparation For Future Enemies

Foolishly assuming that America will only face unsophisticated insurgent enemies, Defense Secretary Robert Gates acted out President Obama's desire to halt America's preparation for other enemies. North Korea, China, Russia are a few potential adversaries who are not unsophisticated jihadists whose most sophistacted weapon is an IED. They have real air forces with real advanced munitions. Friends who fly fighter planes for the U.S. military inform me that North Korea cannot be penetrated unscathed, due to an incredible network of advanced anti-aircraft batteries and, worse, an air force with more advanced planes than our F-15s, -16s, and 18s, which are mostly more than 30 years old.

It's remarkable that Obama doesn't even blink to spend TRILLIONS of dollars, but is acting as if he's a fiscal conservative because he's chopping a mere $1.75 billion for something we actually need.

It's not surprising, really. Obama is in the process of destroying the American health care system and the American economy in general. Why not make us weaker militarily, too?

PREDICTION: Ross And Blue Dogs Will Eventually Support Some Form Of Socialized Health Care...More

It occurred to me that for democrats to avoid losing Congress next year, or at least a number of seats, they have to create the impression that they aren't a monolithic Socialist party.

Enter Mike Ross and the so-called Blue Dogs. Some of them are, no doubt, actually more conservative than liberal, but by and large they are pragmatists. Like most democrats elected in the South, they do what is needed to stay in office. They are part of Howard Dean's Southern Strategy, which saw "conservative" democrats unseat republicans in the 2006 midterms. The whole idea is for voters back home not to see their democrat congressman as part of that group of radical hippie socialist leading the democrats in Congress.

The problem is that whether these conservative democrats are or are not conservative they solidify the most radical democrat leadership in U.S. history. If Mike Ross and his group are really conservative, they wouldn't want to empower Nancy Pelosi, et al.

Which gets back to my point, since they are in office to solidify the radical power base of the democrat leadership, which desperately wants to destroy the American health care system, they will play along with this ruse to make it appear that this sabotage was not passed without opposition from within their party. Witness the significant decline in calls for republicans to be bipartisan. It was a significant talking point of every major initiative for the same reason as this new strategy, so that republicans couldn't go to the voters and tell them that the radical democrats did it all by themselves. The bipartisan strategy having failed, they are now resorting to a far more effective one. Feigning an internecine battle within the democrat party will accomplish much the same, especially since republican chances for gains next year will be in the very seats held by these Blue Dogs.

On some level these conservative democrats may actually be conservative, but they value their position of power more than conservative principles or they wouldn't be democrats.

The Blue Dogs will eventually come to a compromise that will open the door to full blown socialized health care, but they'll put up a fight to make it look good. Their constituents will be reminded that they fought it and forced concessions, but the genie will be out of the bottle. Government programs like this don't go away. They grow.

Curtis Coleman, the charismatic former preacher (sound familiar) running for U.S. Senate, has been linked to Mike Huckabee in the past. He was Huckabee's campaign manager in 1992 when Huck ran against then-U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers.

Coleman now runs a government subsidized "business" called Safe Foods located at 4801 Northshore Drive in North Little Rock. It was recently brought to my attention that HuckPAC, Mike Huckabee's political action committee is housed at the same address.

The colocation is an interesting coincidence, made more so because of the fact that Coleman has downplayed the association with many Conservative activists whose support he has sought. Another Huckabee/Coleman connection was the recent announcement of Huck's daughter-in-law, Lauren, as Coleman's campaign manager.

Coleman and Huckabee are certainly welcome to associate, since they are long-time friends. Downplaying their relationship to Conservative activists who have rightful disdain for Huckabee's less than conservative tenure as governor (among other things) is more than a bit disingenuous on the part of Coleman.

The cost of just the study is predicted to be between $500,000 and $750,000. How many hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars will the rail system itself cost. Then, of course, you have to ask, how many people will actually ride it? We wasted $18 MILLION on the LR/NLR trolley that nobody rides. So far, the most notable riders have been criminals going to carjack and shoot people in the River Market.

The proposed rail line would run from Texarkana to Little Rock to Memphis. People have cars and want to go somewhere other than the train station once they get to Memphis or Texarkana. Aaaaand, I'm not too sure how much demand there is to go to Texarkana, even by car. Memphis is a destination, but most people are just passing through Texarkana. Getting back to my point, though, even if people rode this, it would be a hassle, because, like idiotic light rails, people don't want to talk 3 miles or ride in a smelly cab to get to their destination once they've arrived in Memphis. That's why we have cars. We can go to our specific destination without worrying about whether the train stops within a reasonable distance of where we're going.

Maybe the governor should consider making the state more business friendly. Instead, he can't help himself. Politicians in Arkansas view businesses as revenue sources and are always looking for ways to loot existing businesses and then attract more businesses.

This new website reminds me of the "Come to Michigan" commercials, with Jeff Daniels, where they brag about the fact that they have a billion dollar fund for new businesses to relocate, but fail to mention that they are taxing and regulating the existing businesses to death to create that fund.

Surely Governor Beebe is aware that there are already businesses in Arkansas. Encouraging them to grow is a far simpler way to grow the economy and the job market than spending hundreds of millions of dollars to bring a few hundred jobs... Just a thought.

Sanders Gives Berry And Ross Credit For Opposing Cap And Trade...

...There's no mention of the fact that these "conservative" democrats empower the radical, Leftist democrat majority that passed this radical violation of our freedom. So, if they really want credit, maybe they should do something to take Nancy Pelosi and her radical cronies out of power. Unfortunately, Ross and Berry are in a very small minority of democrats in congress. The fact of the matter is that they are in congress because radicals like Nancy Pelosi put them there. Radical democrats need people like Ross and Berry to solidify their majority.

So, I appreciate their opposition, but that's how they play the game. They are allowed to brake from the majority when the heat is on, if their radical leadership has the votes in the bag, so "conservatives" like Ross and Berry can get credit for "doing the right thing".

Sanders is far more generous in his praise than I can be. He understands the way things work, but he wants to encourage good votes from Ross and Berry.
